Step 1 · Before you start

Find your Waist Point

Locate the protrusion of the Iliac crest bones at the highest point of your pelvic girdle. Feel the sides of your body just above your hips. Tie a string horizontally and perfectly level around your waist at these two points. Measurements A, B and H all reference this string. Get this right and everything else follows.

Vertical distance from the top of the head to the soles of the feet. Stand straight, heels together, looking forward.

Torso Height, Neck to Waist

From the most protruding bone at the base of your neck (7th vertebra) down the spine to the waistline string.

From the highest point of the iliac crest bone straight down to the ankle bone, measured along the side of the body.

From the 7th vertebra down the back to the ankle bone, measured along the spine while standing upright.

Crotch to Ankle

Perpendicular distance from the lowest point of the trunk down to the ankle bone. Stand straight with weight evenly distributed.

Collar to Neck, Front Drop measurement

Collar to Neck, Front Drop

From the collar at the front base of the neck, straight down the centre-front of the body. Keep the tape flat and follow the body line.

Outer Leg Length (Outseam) measurement
Outside of the leg · waist to ankle
Outer Leg Length (Outseam)

From the waistline straight down the outside of the leg to the ankle bone. Stand tall with weight evenly distributed.

Bellybutton to Lower Back measurement

Bellybutton to Lower Back

From the belly button, down across the front and under the seat, up to the lower back. Sets the rise and seat room of the suit.

Bellybutton to Lower Back, Over Shoulder

From the belly button, up and over the shoulder, and down to the lower back. The tape runs over the shoulder, not around the side.

Normal breathing · relaxed
Chest Circumference

Horizontally around the torso, over the shoulder blades and just under the armpits, at maximum chest extension during normal breathing.

Horizontally around the waist just above the highest point of the iliac crest, during normal breathing with a relaxed abdomen.

Horizontally around the hips at the most protruding part of the buttocks, or at the most protruding part of the hip bones if more pronounced.

Measured 2 cm below the Adam's apple in front and at the 7th cervical vertebra at the back. The tape is not horizontal.

Horizontally around the thigh at the point of maximum circumference, taken just below the trunk.

Maximum distance along the back from the right humerus to the left humerus (most protruding shoulder bones), measured in a straight line, not following the curve of the body.

Horizontally along the chest from the attachment of the right arm to the left arm, following the body's curvature, arms relaxed.

From the most protruding point of the shoulder to the wrist at the end of the Ulna bone, measured with the arm relaxed at the side.

From the centre of the back (spine) to the end of the elbow, keeping the arm bent and raised at shoulder height.

Circumference around the bicep in a full flex position. Measure at the point of maximum circumference.
